Thunderbirds Are Go x TeNQ: A Match Made in the Heavens!

Tokyo Dome City’s Space Museum TeNQ is a pretty awesome place on its own, especially for the more scientifically-inclined among us. But combine it with the renowned sci-fi masterpiece Thunderbirds and you’ve got a space exhibit that’s totally out of this world!

Set in the 2060s, Thunderbirds (no relation to the bullet train) depicts an era in which humans have begun colonising the vast reaches of outer space. Originally broadcast in the UK in 1965, the series was reborn as Thunderbirds Are Go in 2015, and now it has landed in the Land of the Rising Sun! With the help of TeNQ’s cutting-edge technology, you can relive the magic of this beloved series by watching its futuristic innovations brought to life before your very eyes!

With the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and other agencies at the helm, the world of science fiction is getting closer to becoming a reality with each passing day. Every kid has dreamt of being an astronaut at one point or another, and the countless movies and television series set in outer space are proof that our collective interest in the subject is as strong as ever. So if you’ve ever wondered what living in a space colony would be like, then this is something you definitely don’t want to miss!

There are plenty of questions remaining before we can all start packing our bags and moving to outer space, though. For instance, what’s a space elevator, and is it even possible to create one? Is there anything to gain from probing asteroids? What about all that trash floating around in space – won’t it cause issues down the line? Join the Thunderbirds on their journey and discover the answers to these questions and more. Consider it a sneak preview of a future that may very well be the present before you know it!
