Sailor Moon fans, prepare to go crazy at the Sailor Moon Art Exhibit

Even if you’re not a nineties kid, Sailor Moon, the titular character from the hit anime aired from 1992 to 1997 is a well-known fixture in the world of anime and manga. The beloved anime series was an adaptation of an equally well-loved manga written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. Sailor Moon and her Sailor Soldiers was one of the pioneers of “girl power” in the nineties, serving an empowering tale of strength and independence for young girls growing up.

The series follows the adventures of schoolgirl Usagi Tsukino who has the ability to transform herself into Sailor Moon. She and her Sailor Soldiers are on a quest to find a missing princess and the powerful Legendary Silver Crystal. They are also responsible for making sure the Crystal doesn’t fall into the wrong hands and protecting the Solar System.

While die-hard fans have never forgotten the stories of Sailor Moon, a reboot of the series in 2014 allowed the warrior princess to have a bigger fanbase. The entire series has sold over 35 million copies worldwide and fans will be delighted to know that for the first time ever, a Sailor Moon art exhibit is being staged in Tokyo.

The exhibit will be held at the Tokyo City View Observation Deck Sky Gallery at the Roppongi Hills Shopping Complex, featuring original Sailor Moon Art by creator Naoko Takeuchi, memorabilia and other artwork. Of course, there will be a huge merchandise area for fans looking to add to their Sailor Moon collection. The café and restaurant The Sun and The Moon will also be joining in on the fun with special Sailor Moon-themed treats.
